Diagnosis
An eye doctor will diagnose your dry eye symptoms along with the cause by doing a dry eye evaluation. A variety of tests may be performed such as a slit lamp exam, TBUT, the Schirmer Test and meibography. Results of this test are then analyzed by the eye doctor, who will determine the severity of Dry Eye Disease as well as the cause.
Treatment
There are several treatment options for Dry Eye depending on the cause and the severity. Mild cases caused by increased screen time, can be improved by looking 20 feet away, every 20 minutes for 20 seconds. This is called the 20-20-20 Rule.
Mild to moderate cases of Dry Eye can be treated with topical prescribed medications, Blephex and/or intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment, low light therapy (LLT) and Radio-Frequency (RF). Moderate to severe cases of Dry Eye can be treated with IPL and Radio-frequency (RF).
Forma | RF
Forma-l is a cutting edge treatment for dry eyes and tissue remodeling. It uses bi-polar radio frequency heat to help restore the function of the meibomian glands, which are responsible for the lubrication of the eyes. It was specifically developed to comfortably deliver radiofrequency energy to the upper and lower lids with bulk heating to unclog the meibomian glands. This improves the quality of your tear film. In addition, RF heat helps stimulate collagen and elastin production in the treatment area, minimizing fine lines & wrinkles, and giving the skin a lifted and rejuvenated look. It is effective for all stages of Dry Eye and provides long-term relief of symptoms.
